One day, I walked into an exercise to music class and just felt better about life. So much so, that 4 months later, I was instructing that same class and trying to do the same for other people.
My career, at the time, was in Market Research and so naturally I wanted to see what type of classes existed.
The style that really caught my eye was REFIT, which I found on YouTube. This was developed by a group of instructors, based in Texas. Trying out their online classes I realised that nothing else felt right for me. So I flew to Texas to train with them and become the UK's first official REFIT instructor and I also went on to be the first in the UK to qualify as a Rev & Flow instructor.
Since then, I have qualified as a Personal Trainer and now have a foundation degree in Exercise, Sport and Fitness and am working on getting my BSc. honours degree in Applied Sport and Health Science this year.
My other main interests are animals, especially dogs, and endurance running, on roads or trails, whether it's a full or half marathon or even a Canicross, all of which require some serious training, but serious doesn't mean you can't laugh and enjoy yourself.
I also love walking, especially on the beautiful Cornish Coast pathways, ideally with my friend and partner in crime, Sara Spary.
As a Personal Trainer, the balance, strength, mobility, flexibility, stamina, and other elements that are required for these endurance type events are always top of mind.
As far as classes are concerned, I am a strongly believe that music and fun are the key attributes, but don't be fooled into thinking these classes are easy.
